A recently completed project of Revision Zero this year (August 2021) was the Goonyella’s Conveyor Upgrade it is situated in the northern part of the Bowen Basin, approximately 30 kilometers north of Moranbah and 190 kilometers south-west of the Hay Point port facilities in Central Queensland, Australia.
Goonyella Riverside is an open-cut coal mine, Australia’s third-biggest coal mine by recoverable coal reserves, and one of the nine metallurgical coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. Metallurgical coal (sometimes referred to as coking coal) is a naturally occurring sedimentary rock found with the Earth’s crust.
Revision Zero was engaged to perform the 3D BIM modeling and detailing of approximately 143 tons of structural and mechanical steel for the Goonyella’s Conveyor Upgrade.
Specifically, the works incorporated such as:
- Gantries and Trestles and their associated mechanical components
- Handrails and Grating
- Guards
- Ladders
The client was happy with the outcome and project completed ahead of planned schedule
