Cambridge Southern Interchange

Revision Zero were engaged by the premier bridge fabricator in NZ to undertake the structural steel detailing for three steel road bridges as part of the Cambridge bypass. This bridge the Southern Interchange was the 1st of three bridges for the project.

The bridge consisted of 2 spans each consisting of four fabricated plate girders. Adding to the challenge of detailing this bridge was that each of the girders was offset from one another and each girder had a different precamber.

In spite of these challenges the fabricator reported back that with the exception of one fabrication error to a brace, each span bolted together perfectly.

Revision Zero’s attention to detail on this complex bridge resulted in zero lost time on site.
