One of Revision Zero’s projects in late 2019 was the Greenbushes Talison Tailings. It is located approximately 250 kilometers south of Perth and Fremantle, a major container shipping port, and 90 kilometers southeast of Bunbury, a significant bulk handling port, in the southwest of Western Australia.
Greenbushes Talison Tailings is a lithium mineral project designed to reprocess old tantalum processing tailings at the Greenbushes mine site. The project aims to produce 280,000 tons per year of 6.0% Li2O chemical-grade spodumene concentrate at a dedicated processing facility over a span of five years. The Greenbushes site, which has grown significantly over the past 30 years, remains a key global supplier of lithium concentrates. In the year 2019, the establishment of a second, large-scale chemical grade lithium processing plant (CGP2) significantly increased production capacity, raising it to 1.34 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of lithium concentrates. The tailings retreatment facility is designed to process reclaimed tailings from an existing tailings storage facility with the objective of extracting contained lithium and producing a marketable lithium concentrate.
Revision Zero played a pivotal role in this critical project by providing meticulous and comprehensive drawings to ensure both precision and accuracy in the execution of the expansion.
