Manuka Health Carterton

Revision Zero was asked to work with a Cambridge, New Zealand Steel Fabricator to complete structural steel drawings for Manuka Health’s new $ 3.5 million expanded honey factory in Carterton. The steel fabricator has an in-house detailer but not the detailing capacity to complete the works on their own.

Utilizing Tekla’s model sharing application, Revision Zero was able to work “live” in the shared model. The detailer working at the fabricators office in New Zealand, would model certain areas of the building whilst simultaneously in the same model Revision Zero’s team in Manila would provide additional modelling, checking and editing resources.

Various Manuka Health officials, dignitaries and local politicians converged on the $3.5 million building on May 8 2016 for the official opening. Manuka Health chief executive John Kippenberger said the expansion was a milestone in the company’s growth. “The centre plays a crucial role in providing a secure and efficient passage for our products,” he said. “It’s a hub for the extraction and collection of honey from more than 20,000 hives that will come in for processing from Northland, Waikato, Taranaki and Wairarapa during the next season.”
