2020 marked a further project completion, Muir Street Bridge in Melbourne, Australia, an integral portion of the upgrade to the West Gate Freeway.
With approximately 160 tons of steel, the new bridge replaces the outdated bridge from 1970′; it has been designed to meet today’s modern standards, The safety features of the new bridge have been improved and provide a much wider space that will allow both pedestrians and cyclists to share the space comfortably. With easy and safe accessibility from either side of the freeway gives residents better access from busy roads.
The 70 meter long and 3-metre-wide bridge was fabricated in 3 framed segments of approximately 50 tons each and transported to the site, where the three frames assembled together. Then the complete bridge lifted into place.
