We’ve successfully delivered the SMP Hydrogen and Calcination Project at Rio Tinto Alcan Yarwun (RTAY)—a leading alumina refinery located just outside Gladstone in Central Queensland, Australia.
This pioneering project involved transforming existing calcination facilities from natural gas to hydrogen operation, significantly advancing RTAY’s sustainability initiatives. Revision Zero was responsible for the full structural steel detailing, delivering precise 3D modeling and comprehensive fabrication drawings for approximately 56 tons of structural steel, complete with 60 linear meters of handrails.
Our scope included detailed modelling of the hydrogen compression and storage facility, interconnected with DN50 piping from hydrogen production to storage and compression units and DN150 piping directly to the existing calciner.
