Revision Zero’s Milestone in Sydney Metro City and Southwest Project
In the first quarter of 2022, Revision Zero reached a significant milestone with the successful completion of the Sydney Metro City and Southwest project. This project marks a pivotal enhancement to Australia’s transportation infrastructure, extending the Metro Northwest Line through Sydney’s central business district and seamlessly connecting Chatswood on the North Shore with Bankstown in the southwest.
The Sydney Metro City and Southwest line is a transformative advancement in urban transport, with the Central Station upgrade being a cornerstone of this initiative. This upgrade will establish a critical interchange, fully integrating Central Station with suburban, intercity, and regional rail services, as well as buses, coaches, and light rail. Key elements of the project include the construction of a new metro station beneath the existing heavy-rail platforms (12-15) at Central Station, significant enhancements to the existing station, and the creation of the “Central Walk”—a new eastern concourse running below suburban platforms 16-23.
This project will dramatically improve commuter convenience and efficiency, increasing train capacity by 60% during peak periods and accommodating an additional 100,000 passengers per hour.
