Revision Zero successfully completed the PDM CHPP MCC Replacement project in Q3 2024, supporting the ongoing infrastructure improvements at Peak Downs Mine, located 31 kilometres south-southeast of Moranbah.
Peak Downs Mine, a key player in Australia’s coal industry since 1972, remains one of the country’s most productive open-cut coking coal operations, producing an impressive 37 million tonnes annually as of 2022. To maintain its efficiency, safety, and sustainability, the mine continues to invest in critical infrastructure upgrades—one of which is the replacement of the Motor Control Center (MCC) at the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP).
Our Scope: Revision Zero provided detailed fabrication drawings for approximately 40 tons of structural and miscellaneous steel, ensuring precision and compliance with project requirements. Our work also included detailing 82 linear meters of handrail, contributing to the overall safety and functionality of the new MCC structure.
By leveraging our expertise in structural detailing and 3D modelling, we played a crucial role in supporting the mine’s commitment to operational efficiency and long-term sustainability.
A great effort by our team to deliver accurate, high-quality detailing for yet another complex industrial project!
